24/02/24 My First Blog January

Published on 28 February 2024 at 12:50

Hello and a very warm welcome to my very first blog, I've never written anything like this before so I hope it makes interesting reading and creates an insight into the past few months of a working magician.  I'm hoping that in time my experience in this will get better and ill be able to post some engaging and interesting content.....Any feedback greatly appreciated. This blog will mostly be covering my past  January  but in the future , Ill be sharing funny stories and some not so funny. Great to have you here and looking forward to connecting with you in the future.

Normally January and February in the life of a Magician would be a quiet few months and a chance to re charge after a busy Christmas period of Christmas parties and corporate events, however for me its been my two busiest months from prior months before Christmas.

I've performed over 25 magic shows in care homes in Devon during these months, these are filling up many mid week dates in my diary. I absolutely love doing these, either my 30 minute parlour show or my close up for individuals   they always get a great reception and I've also met some really wonderful people.  I will continue to do these over 2024/25, please check out my Care home section here on my website for more information.

On 28th January 2024 I was showcasing my magic at the stunning venue very local to me Upton Barn and Walled Garden.

Upton Barn | Exclusive Use Barn Wedding Venue in Devon

I have to say I'm always so pleased to attend this event at Upton, Its set in a stunning setting overlooking beautiful  Mid Devon countryside views , It really is my favourite place to go and perform, Owners Richard and Claire have really nailed the bespoke wedding feel and the wedding events team are so well organised that performing here is really a dream.  I've seen the journey that has been taken by Upton and its grows and grows to make an  amazing wedding experience for its brides and grooms.  I've met many fantastic suppliers here, some of which you will find in my recommended suppliers section (if I've completed this at your time of reading (: )

I'm really looking forward to continuing my relationship with Upton Barn, Devon, and thank them and all of the Brides and Grooms I've performed for at this amazing venue so so much.  Thankyou Upton and keep up the amazing work you are doing., I for one am proud to be on their recommended suppliers list and looking forward to lots more Upton weddings in the the future.

      A Private Party

Performing at private parties has been very popular in the last few years and February continued that trend where I was booked to perform for the guests of Suzie and Helen for Suzie's 40th birthday celebrations  held in Taunton, Somerset. The event was held in the back room of a local public house  and I was booked for two hours close up magic. There was a disco  and Karaoke, whilst this is challenging to a certain degree in respect to communicating with guests, I thrive in such situations and can perform visual magic close up  magic ( it was a great chance to really road test my levitating pack of cards) a video of this is on my social media pages plus on my home page here, check it out.....its crazy and looks like a trick straight from Hogwarts and something Mr Harry Potter would be proud of.

In my next Blog ill be talking about my trip to Cornwall and the Polloriun Hotel on the Lizard, and some funny stories. Plus some of my favourite effects to perform and how magic works as a great icebreaker for any event.

Thankyou for taking the time to  be here and have a read.....I would appreciate any feedback from you in how I can make these blogs better and would love to hear your thoughts.

Don't forget to give me a follow on socials, it would be great to see you there.

See you soon

Graham
